PF (Phenol Formaldehyde)

Phenol formaldehyde are phenolic resin a synthetic resin that formed from the reaction between Phenol and Formaldehyde. Phenol formaldehyde often called as PF adhesive or PF glue. This product is a condensation product after phenol and formaldehyde being reacted. This reaction need special condition of reaction like temperature, pressure and also need catalyst to make this substance can react each others. To force the reaction always produce resin phenol formaldehyde the condition need vacuum pressure that is mean the reactor room should be sucked to make the reaction running to the right. The vacuum from sucked will result a water vapor and usually being condensation become a liquid.

Phenolic tannins of vegetable origin consist of both monohydridic and polyhidric molecular structure, it is more appropriate to discuss them in this section than under resorcinol formaldehyde, RF adhesive.
